NOTE 016 - January 2019 Monthly Journal Highlights
I have my January 2019 highlights for you guys & a little giveaway (closed)!
I will discuss the journal highlights first & then we can get into the giveaway.

I played a lot with textures this past month. I also noticed that I seemed drawn
to lighter colors & more natural things. You will see some new material that you
can see in my hauls that are coming in the next few weeks.
I am really loving watercolor swatches at the moment.

Giveaway Details:
I want to talk about why I am doing the giveaway first. This giveaway
is a bit impromptu. I have a haul post planned for an order I bought
from Cute Things From Japan. I love their store & I bought these
stickers as part of my order. They are so cute. They have cute hamsters
cooking eggs & eating eggs. I got my order. I hadn't used these stickers
for a while after I received my order. I was going to use these in the green
& yellow journal spread above. I opened them & I immediately noticed a
smell. They come in plastic packaging, so I hadn't noticed any smell before.
I go to open the small packet the stickers are in & they smell. I was confused
& worried for a moment. I run & grab my iPad to translate the packaging. I
can't read Japanese. In that moment, it would have been great. I get the
stickers away & bring the cardboard part with me. I tried to take a photo, but
it wouldn't pick it up. I was shaking a bit from the panic & I was trying to draw
the Japanese characters. The translation said "peach," then "peach fragrance," &
finally "peach scented."
I quickly take the stickers & put them on a chair outside. I ask my mother to
come over & put the stickers back in the plastic packet. I was frantic. Why?
This is why I am giving them away. I am an invalid. I do not leave my house
& I don't see anyone besides my immediate family who live with me. I
cannot come into contact with fragrances & a slew of other things, but I
won't go there right now. When I come into contact with fragrances I
have seizures. Not good. Thankfully I don't have convulsions or black out,
but it has happened before. I get a bad migraine & a weird burning cold
sensation mostly on my head. I get weird spasms with parts of my face as well.
Although occasionally it does go away on it's own, I usually have to sleep it off.
It slows me down for days afterwards & it leaves me tense & sore. I decided to
giveaway these stickers as my first giveaway. Yes, I sadly did get sick from
them. It didn't say in the description when I bought them. I should really
learn Japanese, but I will be more careful in the future. If you guys want to
know more about my life & my illness, I may do a future post on that. As
you can see from the photo, this photo is from the haul. I couldn't take a photo
of the stickers on their own after I had opened them. I think there are 71 stickers in
the pack, but I don't know. They are no longer available on the website & I can't
read Japanese. If anyone can read Japanese, please let me know! This giveaway
is US only, but I do have an international giveaway planned for the future.
